Episode Transcript
[00:00:00] Speaker A: Welcome back to the she Said podcast with Amy and Lisa, episode 39.
[00:00:05] Speaker B: We made it. But I felt like I was still on Christmas break. I. I was, I was late this morning and my alarm went. No, didn't. Went. I didn't hear it. Is what happened.
So.
[00:00:17] Speaker A: So just a little bit later start.
[00:00:20] Speaker B: Yeah. All right.
[00:00:21] Speaker A: The most exciting thing in my life is yesterday I launched my ebook. Oh.
[00:00:27] Speaker B: Have you shared it?
[00:00:28] Speaker A: I haven't. I kind of did it quietly just to, you know, because it's nerve wracking when you've got a brand new website and you're brand new charging and everything. But it launched yesterday. I've already had this morning like 75 views and I haven't even talked about it yet. So that's kind of exciting.
[00:00:43] Speaker B: Awesome.
[00:00:43] Speaker A: It's called Dinner in a Box and you get two different files. You get one. That's the guide that just shows you how I've done it. And then a whole hosting kit which tells you, shows you samples of the invite and wording. I've used verbiage, I've used for invites and then the whole process. So one is 37 pages.
[00:01:04] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:05] Speaker A: And the other is 17, I think. Yeah. So you buy two of it. You get them both together for one price. But I think I want to break them up into two and you can buy one which gets you the basic of how I did it.
[00:01:17] Speaker B: Right.
[00:01:17] Speaker A: And then you could buy additional if you want to see the verbiage and all of that. So the two together, the. The dinner in a box is 137 and it's a downloadable. You can download it on Kindle or on your phone or you can print it. It's printable too, so.
[00:01:34] Speaker B: Nice.
[00:01:34] Speaker A: Yeah. Because I've had so many reach out wanting to do it in their own cities.
The only thing I put in there that I've seen somebody do is use the name.
And you really shouldn't use my name. You should just use the concept. But you come up with your own name. Yeah. Seat at the table is mine.
So I put that in there too that you, you can use the concept but come up with your own name. I have seen one online that's using my name using this Seat at the table as the. Their name for theirs.
[00:02:04] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:02:05] Speaker A: They need to really change it because then that's going to get confusing.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. Or yeah, they would need to name it because then people don't know which.
[00:02:12] Speaker A: Yeah. Call it their own thing. Yeah. But do their own.
[00:02:16] Speaker B: So that's why they need to use chat GTP ladies, if you don't come up with something, tell them what you're doing and then say that you want.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: A short name for your event, for your new thing. So anyway, I'm excited. I've never done that before.
[00:02:33] Speaker B: That's awesome.
[00:02:34] Speaker A: Yeah. So we. I launched it yesterday, but kind of just did it.
[00:02:37] Speaker B: I haven't even seen it and I haven't even listened to our podcast from last week. Sometimes I don't like listening to myself, so I'm like, ah, I gotta find time to. But I have a feeling it was.
[00:02:46] Speaker A: Probably a good one because it was a good one.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: We came back loaded with stuff after not seeing each other for a couple weeks.
[00:02:51] Speaker A: It was a really good one because I think they're all good. But I listen to it driving in the car just to. Because I listen to it when I edit it, but it's different because it's broken up, because I'm listening and stopping and listening and stopping. So it's kind of fun to always listen to it straight without an interruption.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: Yeah. If I could get in the car by myself, I could do that.
[00:03:09] Speaker A: That's true. I have a lot of time in the car. I live in my car practically. I'm in it so much. But yeah, so I'm excited for the. That so.
[00:03:17] Speaker B: Well, good.
[00:03:18] Speaker A: Perfect. And then this weekend I made cottage cheese bagels.
[00:03:24] Speaker B: I saw that on Instagram and I saved it.
[00:03:26] Speaker A: Were so good.
[00:03:28] Speaker B: Really? Because I already have the Everything seasoning from Trader Joe's. I'm glad to hear this.
[00:03:32] Speaker A: And I. It's, you know, it's three ingredients. It was cottage cheese. I did a cup of cottage cheese. Well, I doubled it. So I did two cups. But I did a cup of cottage cheese and a cup of almond flour.
[00:03:42] Speaker B: Yep, that's what it said.
[00:03:43] Speaker A: And then one egg and then. But you could do any. You could put blueberries in it. Do any kind of.
[00:03:50] Speaker B: Do you have to make it immediately or can you leave the mix in the fridge for a couple days?
[00:03:54] Speaker A: I don't know. I just made it immediately because I was just looking. I'm always looking for protein. I mean, we all. That's our struggle, I think, is women to get enough protein.
[00:04:02] Speaker B: And I've been trying hard just starting this week.
[00:04:05] Speaker A: Me too. But it's hard to get the number in with food. And so I thought, man, cottage cheese is such a great source and it ends up being 10, 10 grams of protein in one. So if you did two together and like make it like a sandwich, put some different, like chicken breast or something. On it. You would.
[00:04:24] Speaker B: I love cottage cheese and salads and I love cottage cheese. There used to be a restaurant that you would just put. You can put Greek seasoning in it. You get the small curd. Cottage cheese. You get Greek seasoning. Sprinkle it in there to taste. And then you can put little red pimentos in it if you want the color. And it is so good on crackers.
That's the best treat because you don't.
[00:04:46] Speaker A: Taste the cottage cheese, but it gives you the protein you need, and it kind of helps with consistency. I will say if I'm going to do it again, and I will make them again, and I'm going to do some different variations. Definitely needs baking powder. It's going to help them rise because they were pretty flat. They're like a flat biscuit, but they have a really great flavor.
[00:05:03] Speaker B: I like those bagel tops, though. Like the thin bagels. Yeah. And it's pretty.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: The dough is pretty soft and sticky. Yeah. So you. What I did is I just did a spoonful on the cookie sheet and then I just took my finger in the middle to form the hole. Make the hole. Because you couldn't. You can't form it.
[00:05:19] Speaker B: No.
[00:05:20] Speaker A: The dough is too soft.
[00:05:21] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:21] Speaker A: But I think adding some baking powder would make a really big difference.
[00:05:25] Speaker B: Does the cottage cheese still stay lumpy when you.
[00:05:28] Speaker A: I used a mixer. Okay. Because it will stay really lumpy. So I mixed it with just the.
[00:05:32] Speaker B: Like, an immersion blender. Would that do it, or is that to blend it?
[00:05:36] Speaker A: I don't know. Because I've never used one, so I don't know. But I just did a, you know, the normal. With the two beaters and.
[00:05:41] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:05:42] Speaker A: And got it all smoothed out. I did the flour and. And that together before I put the egg in. And then I mix the egg in. Okay. They are so good. I'm gonna continue making them because it has saved me so much.
I did it on Saturday or Sunday, and I. It saved me just with that getting that extra 10, like this morning, I had two of those with a protein drink, and I got my. I was ended up at 57 grams of protein for breakfast, which is.
[00:06:09] Speaker B: That's really good.
[00:06:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:06:11] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:06:11] Speaker A: So I was pretty excited. Very pretty excited and happy with myself.
[00:06:15] Speaker B: That I came up with.
[00:06:16] Speaker A: And I was just trying to. I knew I had the almond flour, and I was like, wait, what can I do with almond flour? And then I was like, cottage cheese is such a good source, and I always have cottage cheese.
[00:06:25] Speaker B: I like cottage cheese.
[00:06:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I do, too. It's good for you, too.
[00:06:28] Speaker B: We've been doing a lot of the plain Greek yogurt this week. We've actually already gone through a whole container in two days between my whole family, because I'm giving each of the dogs a scoop also now. But we just put some honey in it. And then I found some, like, yeah, protein granola, which still didn't rate that great on the yucca app, but we've just been getting a lot. And I used it for my sour cream on. We had chicken enchiladas, and I just used the yogurt for the sour cream. Not one bit of difference.
[00:06:54] Speaker A: You know, I mix Greek yogurt with cottage cheese in the morning, and I'll do a half a slice and half an apple cut up in there and some little bit of honey and cinnamon. So good.
[00:07:04] Speaker B: Okay, I like that.
[00:07:05] Speaker A: Really, really good. I like that.
[00:07:07] Speaker B: Okay, I'm gonna try that. And I got that at home, too.
[00:07:09] Speaker A: So, yeah, I love trying little things like that to kind of get. Get your protein in. It's, like, so annoying trying to get all that in. And then. Did you see my cupcake bouquet? I got no. Oh, my gosh. So my dad, you know, I've talked about going to the neuropathy clinic well before Christmas. He said, I really want to give the girls something at the neuropathy clinic for Christmas. Because he said they've. They've just been so kind. And I. He said maybe like a box of chocolates or something. I was like, well, that's kind of boring.
So I thought a cupcake bouquet. Well, I couldn't. There's. Walmart has them, but they're not great. So I thought, well, surely somebody around here makes them, because I've seen them, and they're just stunning. Well, I found this company online, only she doesn't. I'm sure she makes them from home. She doesn't have a location or she doesn't give out her location. It's called Blooming Cake Studio.
[00:08:01] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:08:01] Speaker A: And she made a bouquet of cupcakes of Christmas. It was poinsettias and white roses. Cute. They looked like a bouquet of flowers. It was. You could not tell the difference. And so I put them in a big gift bag and we gave them to the girls in the back. And so when they pulled them out, she pulled them out and they. She did their paper around them. Like, if you got a dozen roses with all the wrapped beautiful, it's from here for paper. They were beautiful. In fact, one lady said, oh, my gosh, are those flowers really? Oh, it was stunning.
I'm just like, that's a very cute idea. But it was so funny because you. She only. You only talked to her through Instagram. And so we messaged back and forth through Instagram. I actually asked for it on Friday and could I have it by Monday. And she agreed and did it over the weekend. And then she had me meet her at Tulsa Hills at a gas station out there. Yeah. And so I thought, either I'm going to be murdered or kidnapped, because I had no idea who she was. And the morning of, she sent me a message and said what she was driving and that she would meet me there. And I. So I pulled up in front of the gr. The convenience store, and I did it so they could see me from the cash register. I thought, I'm going to park here so in case I'm murdered.
[00:09:15] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:09:16] Speaker A: And then another car pulls up next to me of these two guys that never got out of their car, and I'm like, well, there they are. Those are the guys.
[00:09:22] Speaker B: There's your blooming bouquet.
[00:09:24] Speaker A: I had my.
My whole life planned out that I was going to be captured. But it was a very sweet woman that really. Yeah.
[00:09:33] Speaker B: I don't see her. There's a lot of blooming bouquets on Instagram. So I don't know.
[00:09:38] Speaker A: Blooming Cake Studio.
[00:09:39] Speaker B: Oh, Blooming Cake Studio. Okay. That's what it is. I don't know why I was looking at. Okay, well, I want to see this because it's really neat. So what is like, a book? What's it run to have?
[00:09:47] Speaker A: It was a lot. E was a hundred dollars. Ninety dollars. Well, shoot.
[00:09:53] Speaker B: You'd spend that on flowers?
[00:09:54] Speaker A: Well, easily on flowers. And they last, you know, just as long because everybody ate them. But they were a huge hit and they were beautiful. You should go there, because the bouquets out there that she did on her Instagram.
[00:10:06] Speaker B: Oh, really? Okay, I see the one. You follow it. So I'm gonna follow it right now. Well, that is so cute. Oh, she does some very cute.
[00:10:12] Speaker A: Oh, they're beautiful.
[00:10:14] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness.
[00:10:14] Speaker A: That's it. That's yours? Yeah.
[00:10:17] Speaker B: Yeah. You guys need to go check this place out, because this is really neat.
[00:10:20] Speaker A: And you can only talk. She doesn't have phone number. She only talks through Instagram. And I'm sure she probably does it from her home and doesn't want people coming to her house.
And even her business card she gave me does not have any contact info. It's Instagram or Facebook.
But, I mean, she had it done. I asked for it on Saturday morning, and she did it for me. And I picked it up at 9:30 Monday morning.
And not only was it stunningly beautiful, but she made me a cupcake myself to get for my dad and I. Yeah. It was the best thing I've ever tasted in my whole life. I love it.
[00:10:56] Speaker B: Oh, how neat it was.
[00:10:57] Speaker A: Buttercream frosting. And it truly was the best cupcake I've ever had. I was like, holy cow. Okay.
[00:11:04] Speaker B: I like it.
[00:11:04] Speaker A: Yeah. So if you're looking for a cupcake.
[00:11:07] Speaker B: Yeah. I've never seen anything like that.
[00:11:09] Speaker A: So pretty.
[00:11:10] Speaker B: That is very, very neat. Let's see. I have a lot of laundry to go home too, which I think I've talked about this before.
[00:11:16] Speaker A: We're real.
[00:11:17] Speaker B: We're real picky and, like, we like our scent.
Yeah.
[00:11:20] Speaker A: I like my clothes to smell good.
[00:11:22] Speaker B: So I got, you know. And I'd bounce between Magnolia and Tyler the diva.
But I'm sure most people know this, but a lot of people don't. I don't know. But to cut it with, like, a plain tide or, you know, clear or something to make it last longer if you don't want it quite as strong. But also you can pour some of that. Tyler. Now, it's not on the directions, but I do it. But you can put some of that. Pour it in a candle warmer, and it will make your whole house smell like it. It smells so good.
[00:11:50] Speaker A: Oh, that's a good idea.
[00:11:51] Speaker B: So I almost wonder if you could do that with your magnolia if you wanted to. Just add a liquid to it, water it down a little bit, and then put it in the simmer pot.
[00:11:58] Speaker A: You know what they recommend at Magnolia if you don't have dogs that drink toilet water, is to put one of the shower steamers in the tank of your toilet.
[00:12:06] Speaker B: No way.
[00:12:07] Speaker A: And every time you flush it, I.
[00:12:09] Speaker B: Would do that a hundred times.
But how long would that last?
[00:12:13] Speaker A: It doesn't last long.
[00:12:14] Speaker B: Maybe, like, for company, then.
[00:12:15] Speaker A: Yeah, like, we do it for company.
[00:12:17] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:12:18] Speaker A: But you got to be careful that your dogs don't drink it. If your dogs drink toilet water, a lot of dogs do.
[00:12:23] Speaker B: Mine will try.
Yeah, they'll try. And I'm like, you got a bowl right in there, buddy.
[00:12:28] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't know why I keep trying to get them to bring in diffuser oil.
[00:12:33] Speaker B: I know.
[00:12:33] Speaker A: Or sell the oil by itself, but they won't because they don't want people making their own things out of their oil.
[00:12:38] Speaker B: I think you could probably add a little distilled water to it or I don't know. An oil like a little bit of coconut oil.
[00:12:46] Speaker A: They just don't sell the oil by itself.
[00:12:48] Speaker B: No, they do not.
[00:12:49] Speaker A: They won't. I've tried. I've asked them a million times.
[00:12:52] Speaker B: Water down some of that block. I'm going to try it today. I'm going to water down some laundry detergent, and I'm going to put a little bit of the powder in a simmer pot and see what happens.
[00:12:59] Speaker A: Or even the. The shower oil. Yes, you can do that, too.
I tried it in a diffuser once, and it's too heavy. It's not the right consistency. So the diffuser didn't really put off.
[00:13:11] Speaker B: No, you can see that not working.
[00:13:13] Speaker A: But I think in, like, a candle warmer kind of thing would. It could probably work.
[00:13:19] Speaker B: I'm gonna try it. But I do know that putting the liquid diva or any whatever scent you like in your simmer pot, it works great.
I've done that a ton, and it works just fine. Yeah.
So, okay. I have been. I don't know why I've seen so much of it, but the lymphatic drainage massage. And we've talked about this before, and for whatever reason, it's been coming up, and I really want to.
Something like that. And I've looked up names of people that do it here in Tulsa. So I have a few names to do it. But there was a doctor I came across, and they call it the Lymphatic drainage the Big Six method by Dr. Perry Nicholson. And you can find him on. You wouldn't find him anywhere, but you can go to tik tok or YouTube or whatever. But it teaches you kind of how to give your own lymphatic drainage massage before you do certain things, or especially getting up in the morning. I mean, we should all be kind of focusing on that a little bit. So I just want to put that name out there. Had you heard of him? The Big Six? Well, I've seen Lisa's before and after picture from a lymphatic drainage massage, and it was absolutely insane. So, like, if you're gonna go on vacation or something, you gotta be ultra.
Like, you want to lose inches. I mean, you lose inches.
[00:14:33] Speaker A: I would say two. Two pant sizes.
[00:14:35] Speaker B: It was after one massage. This is not an exaggeration. I've seen the pictures. It's crazy.
Yeah. So if I'm gonna spend money on a massage, it better make me skinnier. Yeah. For at least a day. Yeah.
[00:14:46] Speaker A: Well, she said that it would last a couple weeks if you didn't go out and pounds pizza or right. It would, it would last because of the fluids flowing.
[00:14:56] Speaker B: You know, they really cut you in your way set in. It is insane now. And the first time I ever even came across like how massage can. I was at a hair and nail show, a beauty show somewhere. Honestly, this was 25 years ago. And I remember I was so fascinated by the man who was giving. He was giving a facial and he was saying, I want you to see this lady's wrinkles. She had like smoking lip. By the end of that massage, her lips were completely plumped out, the lines were gone. And it's all about stretching those muscles. And even now, like with my neck from that surgery, I've never been happy with it when I had that disc put in. But they say, you know, like when you always see those things, this exercises, they say lift your neck and then open your mouth. When you put hands on your chest right here, like right at the bottom of your throat where your clavicle is and pull down and then do that stretch. It's 10 times more. Then you realize how tight those bands have gotten from looking at our phones, looking at a computer.
So really, if you're going to do that exercise, pull down on your clavicle a little bit and then do the stretch because it is so much more intense.
[00:16:01] Speaker A: I wish there was somebody here that did it like that. Because that girl, I mean that's what she's known for. It's a different technique. And, and you know, they always say lymphatic massages aren't supposed to be pressure. They're just really lightly touched. She dug in there. I mean, I was. My stomach was a little bit sore. But let me tell you something, it worked. But she did say it would last a couple weeks. But I flew home two days later. And so getting on a plane, she said, well, yours won't last because obviously you know that pressure difference. So mine didn't.
But she has so many of the red girls coming from the red carpet that go to her first before the red carpet.
[00:16:37] Speaker B: So a few of the names that popped up when I asked the question, Tulsa Surgical Art, Brandy does it. Someone else that I second her, they said Brandy Fenwick and Shauna Santa, Santa Cruz do it at Tulsa Surgical Arts.
[00:16:51] Speaker A: They do it for all the tummy tuck patients.
[00:16:54] Speaker B: Okay. And then mustard seed massage. Caitlyn Red Canyon does it. I've gotten this. Nate's lady's name, Michelle Daniels. Post op Lymphatic drainage and massage. So those are some names in Lionheart Wellness locally, that does it. Because I'm very interested in doing that.
That'd be a great way to kind of jump start because then you really realize how much fluid you're holding, how much like, inflammation we're holding on to. And then you might make. Help you focus a little bit more on what you're putting in your body.
[00:17:26] Speaker A: Well, and I think that's the thing with lymphatic is that's it gets stopped up because of the junk and all the radical stuff and all the things that we're doing. The lymphatic system is what keeps everything flowing, keeps your immune system healthy, and it gets sluggish and then everything just sort of.
[00:17:43] Speaker B: Well, and I look at pictures of me from even a year ago that have just kind of popped up in my phone and I see like this swell. And I'm not any different weight, but I see the swelling in my face. I'm like, man, that was really. But the only thing I've really done different. Start all those blessed botanicals. Liver cleanse, candida cleanse. All that. And black seed oil, of course, is huge for inflammation. And I. I do not go without that. So I think that had to have helped with the inflammation I've had going on in my body.
[00:18:13] Speaker A: So crazy how learning so much about inflammation and what it does and how much weight you carry with inflammation. Yeah. And I think that's what I'm realizing with that BPC is that's what it does, is get out all that inflammation and boy, your joints feel so much better. But it's inflammation is like the number one problem in most people. It totally is women. And we just carry it.
[00:18:39] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:18:39] Speaker A: With hormone issues and all sorts of stuff.
[00:18:41] Speaker B: So that needs to be everyone's new goal. Start taking black seed. Go get a lymphatic drainage massage. Massage. And then start the BPC if you're not nervous about it.
I know, but I'm good. As a matter of fact, though, I heard I need to find out exactly what it was. My friend that she gives her kids something that helps change the flavor of it. You put a drop of it in your mouth and it totally changes the black seed oil taste. Like if there's oils you can't take. Yep. I'll find out what it is.
[00:19:08] Speaker A: Please do, because I cannot. I just can't do it. Tried it and I can't. And I. I did notice a difference when I was taking it, but I put it in all my oils. My.
I mix it with my castor oil along with frankincense. And all the oils and put it on my skin, but not in. Oh, I can't handle it. I'm not.
[00:19:26] Speaker B: Well, I remember I bought this flavored stuff. You could spray it in your mouth and it would make sweets taste really bad if you craved. And I really should do that before I go somewhere where there's birthday cake and icing, because I just love to have that and I need. And I saw it in my cabinet the other day. It's way expired.
I should do it, though, before I want a Dr. Pepper. That's what I'm gonna do.
[00:19:48] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
Does it taste bad or does it just make the other stuff taste bad?
[00:19:53] Speaker B: Makes anything sweet taste terrible, but it doesn't taste terrible.
Not that I remember. No. What? Anything bad. Okay. My friend's gonna send me a picture of it.
[00:20:02] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:03] Speaker B: It's a candy. She said it's a candy that you put in your mouth.
[00:20:05] Speaker A: Oh, interesting.
[00:20:06] Speaker B: It changes the flavor of black seed oils or things like that. But I am getting a new one called cortisol control.
[00:20:12] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:20:12] Speaker B: Which I'm really interested in. Yeah.
[00:20:14] Speaker A: Is that from that same company? Bless botanicals. I need a cortisol. Although I will say my cortisol is under control. But when you have a something catastrophic happen in your life, that's what shoots up quicker than anything.
[00:20:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:20:26] Speaker A: And that's what does so much damage. That's what keeps you awake. That's what causes belly fat on women. Yeah, man.
[00:20:32] Speaker B: Every police officer should probably be on. Oh, any kind of first responders stuff, they should be on it.
[00:20:37] Speaker A: That thing is what destroyed me during my mom's illness.
That's what caused the weight gain. That's what caused the lack of sleep, which then snowballs into beat you up.
[00:20:46] Speaker B: Ugh.
[00:20:47] Speaker A: That's crazy.
[00:20:48] Speaker B: Okay, so then speaking about the inflammation and stuff, I think I don't remember if I've told you or not about that little portable TENS unit. Like, I kind of went on. You know, I've had TENS units before that were prescribed to me. I bought this little. It's like pocket size. Really. It's like a. Like a air pod case. It's a little bigger than that, but.
And they just stick to you and they're wireless. And like, there's times I've been in the car because, you know, for whatever reason, my car seat, it just triggers my right leg. I cannot figure out why. Anyway, so I've put that on me and I can just kind of control it. Even when we went on the airplane, I had it because I was worried about my leg hurting in there. So I was able to have that. And if anything, of course it's not going to be like medical grade, but it. You can also. It can go too high too. So it does enough to make you realize. But it has different settings. I think I paid $50 for. It is definitely worth it. Like, if I. It's in my bag right here. Um, so it's nice to be able to keep with you if you are worried about. Because Steven was asking me about going hiking somewhere, and I'm like, yeah, I don't know. But then I thought, well, I've got that tens unit. I can. I. I just worry about getting hurt anymore. I cannot even believe those words are coming out of my mouth. That sounds so old.
[00:21:59] Speaker A: I know. But so true, man.
[00:22:01] Speaker B: But here I am talking about bringing a lidocaine patch. And it is what it is. You just figure it out. But I do recommend that. And my red light map came this week.
[00:22:11] Speaker A: Oh, good.
[00:22:11] Speaker B: Yes, I got it. But it puts off a really harsh smell, so I got to kind of let it air out.
[00:22:15] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. The fabric.
[00:22:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:22:17] Speaker A: Out of.
[00:22:17] Speaker B: Yeah. So I think I'm a lay out in the sun today and let it do that. But I have been doing red light on my stomach, like, every day, multiple times a day. Basically, if I sit down, I am putting that on me and it's my wrap. And I can 100% tell a skin texture difference on my stomach. So I lay it on my stomach into my chest. Because mine is about maybe a foot and a half long. It's the same one I use for my knee and stuff. But there's definitely a difference in texture that I can see.
[00:22:48] Speaker A: So I can't imagine not having a red light.
[00:22:52] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:22:52] Speaker A: I also love those tens units when you go to the chiropractor and they put.
[00:22:56] Speaker B: Yeah, you need to get one of those little portable ones. Because it is worth it if you're, like, just having a rough day. I just don't want it firing off, triggering while I'm driving. And then my whole foot flex is on my pedal.
[00:23:06] Speaker A: You really should try going to the neuropathy clinic for your sciatica. I see women in there all the time getting sciatica treatment.
[00:23:15] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay.
[00:23:16] Speaker A: It seems to work.
[00:23:17] Speaker B: Yeah. I need to wonder if my insurance will cover it. I will check into that because it's improved because I did get an injection.
[00:23:23] Speaker A: Oh, okay.
[00:23:24] Speaker B: But it's still not. It can still get triggered, but it wasn't as much as it was because it was really uncomfortable. So did you. Have you gone to the. Do you ever go to the movies?
[00:23:32] Speaker A: No, I went to see.
Oh, Gosh, Forgetting you. That came out recently.
It's a good movie, and I went to see that. And that's the first time I've been in a theater in a long time. Yeah, Years.
[00:23:44] Speaker B: Well, we. I pay for. You know how you've got Netflix and Paramount. I pay for Angel. I'm just telling you, that is, like, the best $20 spent every month on a streaming app. First of all, they have good, like, movies you can watch with your family, but every month, they also. With that, they give you two free movie tickets to a movie they're premiering. So, like, David was one of the movies because it was with that network.
So, first of all, if you haven't seen David, that is a great movie. Like, it was so good. My whole. All of us went. And of course, my older son was like. He wasn't expecting much out of it. And really, neither was Stephen, but they were actually blown away. Very good. So now they have a new one coming out, and they'll send you the tickets. And you have a ton of days and times. There's no specific. Like, you're not. There's not a window that is worth getting because you can get two movie tickets out of it every month. Go see something that's clean. Go do something different. So I like it. It's money well spent. Yeah.
[00:24:38] Speaker A: I don't ever go to movies anymore. I don't really. I'm not a big TV watcher. I don't really. I'm not that. You know, some days I hardly think anyone.
[00:24:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I think it's. Everyone streams stuff on their phone or they're looking at short things.
[00:24:48] Speaker A: That's true. So you know what else I've been doing that I really. As of last night, it hit me that I think that's really helping. I've been sungazing in the morning.
[00:24:57] Speaker B: Have you been doing it?
[00:24:58] Speaker A: Yeah, for probably. I don't know. When you have sun, we haven't had a lot of. There have been a lot of days without sun, but probably three weeks.
[00:25:05] Speaker B: That's my brother does it. I mean, like, he is a huge Sungazer. How long can you do it for?
[00:25:10] Speaker A: You're supposed to do it 10 to 20 minutes.
I. I'm. I'm usually out there with Piper, so I'll do it while she's out there. I might.
[00:25:18] Speaker B: You're able to look right at it.
[00:25:19] Speaker A: Yeah. It's hard, but I. Yeah, but it's.
[00:25:21] Speaker B: Is it getting easier.
[00:25:22] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. And it's. First of all, you can just feel. I love sitting in the sun. I've always been a sun girl anyway. And so that on the warmer days, you got to bundle up. On some of mornings, it's pretty chilly out there, but just to sit there and let the sun hit you on the face, it's.
[00:25:36] Speaker B: I'm laughing because you know what the next step of sun gazing is, right?
[00:25:39] Speaker A: No.
[00:25:40] Speaker B: What? And I hate the word, but there's no other way to say it. People literally, basically sungaze their butthole.
[00:25:47] Speaker A: What?
[00:25:48] Speaker B: That's a whole thing. Like, look it up. It. There is an entire universe of people that go out there, laugh.
I was like, when I hear the word sungazing, I always think, I wonder if they're taking it a step. No, it's a whole.
[00:26:05] Speaker A: Wow. Never heard of it.
[00:26:07] Speaker B: Look it up. And you're gonna be like, what in the world. Yeah. Has something to do with, like, your butt. And son.
We'll just say that they do it. I mean, like, yeah, that's not happening.
[00:26:17] Speaker A: In the old Harden household.
My neighbors are under construction. They're adding on to their house.
[00:26:24] Speaker B: And that is hilarious.
[00:26:25] Speaker A: Four boys. Is it? Four boys. Oh, my boys and a girl, and they've been. They move their trampoline over by the fence. So I was sitting out there the other morning, and I look up, and the boys are all jumping in their trampolines. And we all saw each other at the same time because they have a direct shot. And they were like. And I was like, yeah. So can you imagine that would send those boys into trauma they've never experienced? No.
[00:26:47] Speaker B: They would be totally traumatized.
[00:26:50] Speaker A: No. But I do think it's really working. I was just telling you earlier. Tell me that I went last night, I started working late like I normally do. And so it was 11:15 when I realized, and I had already. You know, that's way past my. I'm like a newborn baby. I have to have a sleep routine. Yeah. And I thought, oh, great, I'm not going to sleep tonight. But I went to bed and Woke up at 6:20. And I always get up at 5. And I woke up at 6:20, and I slept all the way through, and I had a score of like 78, 79. And I got an hour and 15 minutes of REM and an hour and 14 minutes of deep sleep, which is unusual and unheard of. So I do think that circadian rhythm. And I saw that with my mom in the hospital, how their days and nights get so mixed up because. And when we had her in skilled nursing trying to get her to recover from the hospital, when I opened up those windows bright as ever and the sun shone in the morning.
[00:27:42] Speaker B: Yes, so important.
[00:27:42] Speaker A: And they would. The nurses would come in to get her up or something and I'd have the curtains wide open and even at night I'd keep them open as late as possible. But just because it really did help her mentally makes a huge difference. I really do think it's working is to get that sun early in the morning and get your body clock turned on and get it going anyway. I've really enjoyed it and I've tried to do it consistently except on the rainy days or the, you know, cloudy days. But they say even to do it on a cloudy day that you're still getting the rays that the vitamin that's coming through that. Yeah, I have. It's too cold usually on the cloudy days. But I try it when it. I did it this morning and so I. I'm gonna keep doing it and see things.
[00:28:24] Speaker B: I don't wear sunglasses. We've talked about that before. I mean I've had some for, you know, like oh, this would be cute for something but I feel so claustrophobic when I wear them.
[00:28:33] Speaker A: Really. I just.
[00:28:33] Speaker B: Oh, I just don't even. Yeah, I don't like it.
So that's really good that I've never conceded to them for a full time thing but. Because I think you're just gonna make yourself more sensitive to sunlight then.
[00:28:45] Speaker A: Yeah, my eyes have been very sensitive. I wear sunglasses when I drive but I also am nearsighted and my sun our prescription and I only need glasses to drive.
[00:28:54] Speaker B: Right.
[00:28:54] Speaker A: And so. And I also will say I have been doing the. I think I. We talked about it last week but castor oil with pearl powder, you put it on your eyelids. It's supposed to help with your eyesight. You're farsightedness and I really do think it's working.
[00:29:09] Speaker B: I've got to do that.
[00:29:11] Speaker A: I've only been doing it for a couple of weeks, but I'm telling you my eyesight had gotten so bad for reading and it didn't happen until this year. It happened about.
I just remember like when my mom was in the hospital up and up until March I didn't need glasses, but I think it was some of it just all of them.
[00:29:26] Speaker B: So how much castor oil to pearl.
[00:29:28] Speaker A: Powder I just made like I have a little glass jar and I just put some castor oil in there. So it's Only like, you know, an inch high. One of those little tiny rounds. Yeah. And then I just mix, you know, just a little bit of pearl powder.
[00:29:40] Speaker B: Yeah. Because I saw an ad yesterday for.
It was a pearl powder like, thing, and they were talking about get rid of floaters. Get rid of.
[00:29:48] Speaker A: Yeah, 1,000%. I really think it's working. I've even been putting it around the. On the sides of my mouth because I have those sleep wrinkles and they are smoothing out.
[00:29:58] Speaker B: Where'd you get the pearl powder?
[00:29:59] Speaker A: That crucial four.
[00:30:02] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:30:03] Speaker A: That company we talked about last week.
[00:30:05] Speaker B: Crucial for. That's right. Okay. I'm gonna have to do that because I did make last night my little. I wanted to make some of that fire castor oil. So you just get one of those little short mason jars that, you know, maybe it might be. That's probably a four ounce, I bet. So I did a two ounce mix, just in case. So I did two ounces of castor oil, and then I did one teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Mix it in there. And it needs to set for three weeks because that really kind of helps the cayenne pepper break down.
And people swear by it for aches and pains. And now I bet people have tried to do it after it just sitting a night. It really should sit for like three weeks. And then I think it breaks down the grain, you know, the grains of the pepper and stuff too. So I just made that last night, and March 3rd, I get to.
[00:30:49] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:30:49] Speaker B: Take it out of it, you know, start using it. So we'll see what it does. It's red. I know. I don't know.
Heck no. I kept telling myself that last night. I was like, don't touch my eyes. Don't touch my eyes.
[00:31:00] Speaker A: Well, we're out of time. Next week, our big 40.
[00:31:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, wow. Okay. Did you look up the in a talks thing?
[00:31:06] Speaker A: No.
[00:31:07] Speaker B: Did you look at any video?
[00:31:08] Speaker A: I did not think about that. I need to do it.
[00:31:09] Speaker B: Yeah, it was very interesting. Okay.
[00:31:11] Speaker A: Well, you'll have a good week next week.
[00:31:13] Speaker B: Bye.
